Refugees and HIV/Aids (Article)

Abstract

This paper provides an overview of the impact of the HIV epidemic on refugee situations, and of the response so far by UNHCR and its partners (in terms of policies, guidelines and activities) to this grave affliction. It also outlines current challenges and opportunities and points to future directions, recalling that HIV/AIDS is not only a health issue, but has legal, socio-economic and security dimensions.
