Effect of familistic values of married immigrant women on caregiving stress: The mediating effect of cultural adaptation stress (Article)

Abstract

This study was to identify the mediation effect of cultural adaptation stress in relation with familistic values and caregiving stress of foreign married immigrant women. Finally, the answers of 122 Chinese and 127 Vietnamese married immigrant women were used for analysis. Firstly, a partial mediation effect of cultural adaptation stress was verified in relation with familistic values and caregiving stress of the Chinese married immigrant women. First, familistic values and caregiving stress were identified to be significantly different depending on the nationality of married immigrant women. Second, a partial mediation effect of cultural adaptation stress was verified in relation with familistic values and caregiving stress among married Chinese immigrant women. © 2015 International Information Institute.
