Abstract

The numbers of refugees arriving in Berlin are constantly increasing. The ethical question, to what extent refugees without legal residence status or within the regular asylum processing have to receive health care, is discussed in the light of the experiences in refugee work of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Berlin. Low-threshold medical services need to be state funded. Irrespective of their residence status, refugees have to receive medical care for chronic diseases and an immunization protection in general. ©2015 by De Gruyter.
