Abstract

The article describes the project “Migrant Births”, carried out by the Melograno Center for Maternity and Birth Information in Rome, with the contribution assigned by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies. The choice to implement a specific host and support project for migrant mothers, who are increasingly numerous in our country, stems from the experience gained by the association in 34 years of activity in 1000 days, and in particular by the recognition of the major problems experienced from migrant women when they bring to the world a child in a country other than the country of origin and generally not very close to the needs of a mother. It was intended to experiment an innovative model of early accompanying, information and support on multiple levels, for pregnant migrant mothers or with a newborn. © 2018, Associazione Culturale Pediatri.
