Abstract
During the "Brazilian fever", part of the Polish immigration process to Brazil, in the last decade of the nineteenth century, several Polish intellectuals accompanied the displacement, installation and adaptation of the patricians in the southern states. The intellectuals from a scientific society called the Lwów Group, located in the Austrian part of partitioned Poland, came up with ideals to analyze the presence of the Polish people already in place and to follow the trajectory of the new emigrants. In producing texts, they left their impressions on Brazil and its inhabitants, which we analyze based on the representations of the culture in the boom of imperialism, in force in the context of the European continent. © 2018 State University of Maringa.
