Abstract
In previous research on questionnaires and interviews of men and women identity differs using linguistic forms and thematic perspectives. This study aims to investigate the identity of immigrants in the workplace. For this purpose, 100 simulated interviews are analysed that compose a corpus from the Spanish language certification for immigrant workers of the Community of Madrid (Diploma LETRA). Transcripts are processed in order to create different micrographs according to the genres studied. The most frequent lexical units are exemplified and analysed, returning their meaning in the contexts of extraction. The results show that differences reported by other authors in native are also presented in non-native selection. Women express different thematic preferences than men when they talk about themselves in the workplace, judge them as pertinent and are able to find justifications for inserting these topics. © Universidad de Alcalá.
