Abstract

The case study proposed here recounts the experience of a Bulgarian Roma family supported in an "integration project" in France. The aim is to analyze how the political and institutional treatment of Roma migrants has an impact on the families themselves and their relatives. The article questions several points: the identity dynamics resulting from the accompaniment in this project and the consequences of this change in the daily life of the couple and in their relations with their peers. To account for the subjectivity of these Bulgarian Roma in contact with the actors of the project allows to question the notion of "integration" put forward by the institutions.
