Rights of Children Seeking Asylum: A Danish Perspective (Article)

Abstract

In recent years there has been a gradual shift in the Danish government's guidelines regarding children in need of social support, particularly with regards to children living in Denmark on a procedural residence. This means that children seeking asylum are increasingly treated solely as a matter of immigration law, and not as a matter of social rights. The article describes and challenges this political shift from a legal perspective, and debates whether it is in compliance with international law. © 2016 Norwegian Centre for Human Rights.
