Abstract

This article discusses the emotional dimension of identity development among Chinese immigrant women: their emergent needs for attention, validation, and support from their spouses. Using this author's private practice experience with this population, this article illuminates the sociocultural reality of a group of Chinese immigrant women, and the therapeutic approaches that supported them in creating new meanings and options in their seemingly unsolvable dilemmas. © Copyright (c) by The Haworth Press, Inc.
