Abstract

The taking into account of dimension cultural starts with the coordinated work carried out with the migrant families received in a coercive help context. Migration will be seen as a moment of stress in the cycle of the life of the individual. The meeting will be built on the basis of an «intercultural space » that the intervening party will try to build in a dialectical way with the families. This space will be occupied in different ways in order to make the relational impact of the exchange easier. Ignoring the cultural contents of the family will let the intervening party his curiosity in « hic et nunc » instead of being influenced and burdened by « knowledgeable prejudices ». The presence of an interpreter, who becomes then a cultural mediator, will have the function to support the setting in commune of two worlds: that of the intervener's and that of the family.
