The purpose of this article is to analyze the elderly home caregivers work, in the context of Peruvian workers who migrated to Buenos Aires and work in the live in basis. It is a situation strongly marked by interpersonal relationships and a particularly intense subjective commitment. The first part addresses the overall presentation of the situation of these workers who became elderly caregivers in Buenos Aires. In the second part, the analysis takes some essential elements that structure the daily reality of the live in caregivers, as the continued confinement and persistent intimacy with highly dependent people. The article ends with a reflection on affective ambiguous roles. The analysis set is supported by biographical interviews conducted with workers. © Martin Média. Tous droits réservés pour tous pays.
