Abstract
Our enquiry which began in 2009 concentrates on the food path (linked to the life path) of retired "Senegalese" men from the Ford and Lu factories in Bordeaux and of their wives, mostly cleaning staff. The research, which takes place both in Senegal and France, shows how the confrontation of these retired "Senegalese" with other ways of eating, looking after themselves, taking or not taking care of their bodies when they are staying in Dakar, questions their identity of "old" emigrants but also of "old" immigrants in Bordeaux. © Fond.
