Abstract
One language is threatened when the intergenerational transmission has been interrupted. However, few experts research this complex problem. This paper explores the intergenerational transmission of an aboriginal language in linguistic socialization processes. Specially, I study intra and intergenerational communicative practices (adult-adult, adult-child and child-child) in language shift contexts. Backing on ethnographic approach I analyze here the case of a Toba settlement located in a peripherical area of Buenos Aires city in which processes of substitution of the Toba language by the Spanish are taking place.
