Abstract

The article sets out to analyse the characteristics of Spanish communist exile in popular democracies, examining the origin of the exiles, their organisation and their numerical, social and media influence. We start from the hypothesis that this militant group constituted one of the worst affected parties of all the exiles as a result of the economic, political and social circumstances of the destination societies. Primary, secondary and newspaper and magazine resources of different national and international archives were used to prepare this.
