Presidential Order No. 62/01 of 9 February 1989 creating and organizing the Special Commission on the Problems of Rwandan Emigrants. (Article)
Abstract
This Order creates a Special Commission on the Problems of Rwandan Emigrants with the objective of studying the most important problems relating to Rwandan emigrants and, in particular, Rwandan refugees. The Commission is to have the following functions: 1) to propose solutions to resolve the problems faced by Rwandan emigrants and, in particular, Rwandan refugees; 2) to participate in conferences dealing with refugee questions; 3) to maintain relations with organizations concerned with refugee questions; 4) to maintain with concerned groups all contacts and negotiations that can contribute to finding a solution to the problems faced; 5) to follow-up regularly requests for passports and reintigration; 6) to follow the development of files relating to the free movement of people and to the right of establishment within the framework of bilateral, subregional, and regional cooperation; and 7) to take an interest in everything relating to the welfare of Rwandan emigrants. Further provisions of the Order deal with the administration, meetings, and finances of the Commission, among other things.
