How Southeast-Asian Refugees in California Adapt to Unfamiliar Health Care Practices (Article)

Abstract

Southeast Asian refugees living in the San Francisco Bay Area were interviewed to find out how they are coping with Western medical care. Traditional Southeast Asian medical practices are discussed, and conflicts the refugees face with regard to health care in the United States are highlighted, as are the resolutions of these conflicts. © 1982 by the National Association of Social Workers.
