Abstract

Uses the following objectives: 1) to observe the pattern of economic forces of demand for female workers in the manufacturing sector of Malaysia and its relationship with the growth of multinational industrial companies in Malaysia; 2) to look at the impact of these economic forces of demand for female laboour on the structural composition of the manufacturing sector's labour force as well as the trend of Malay female labour force as well as the trend of Malay female labour migration from the rural to the urban areas; 3) to examine the broad ramifications of the present exodus of Malay female labour migration; 4) to identify the major implications of the changing trends and patterns of female labour migration in the context of specific government socio-economic development objectives and strategies.
