Abstract

Of 325 Indochinese refugees retested, 136 (42%) had converted from negative to positive skin tests (increase of at least 6 mm from less than 10 mm or more induration). The mean change in reading was 12.2 mm for all converters; No converter had evidence of progressive disease or x-ray changes. The high rate of conversions represents an unrecognized potential public health problem.
