Abstract

This paper is written from the Lao refugee camp at Nong Khai, in northeast Thailand, where about 30,000 refugees are groping for a new life. It describes a long-term program of service, teaching, and research in international health, being developed here by a group of US health workers known as the Minnesota International Health Volunteers (MIHV). It also suggests an approach to preparation for persons contemplating health outreaches to less developed countries.
