Abstract

Concerning the woman coming from the Maghreb to live in France, the authors explain the connection between sexuality, Islam and culture. They show the sexual function of the woman is limited to motherhood and implies submission to the man while excluding sexual pleasure, this pleasure being reserved only for the man. In consultation about sexual matters the immigrant woman asks questions only about pregnancy and vaginal pains. Contraception, in this cultural environment attains therefore a very limited success.
