Abstract
This study discusses the effectiveness of two different psychosocial programs designed to take into account the specific situation of Iraqi refugees in Jordan and in Lebanon. In Jordan, the psychosocial intervention was a combination of center-based services such as psychological support and social assistance as well as community outreach through home visits. In Lebanon, the access to beneficiaries was more focused on home and community-based services due to a different context for Iraqi refugees who have restricted access to available support services. In order to assess these two ways of intervention, data on the population of beneficiaries and the outcomes of the psychosocial services provided was analyzed. Adapting psychosocial interventions to specific problems encountered by refugee populations, especially when they live in urban areas, is emphasized. Copyright © Fondation Terre des hommes.
