Abstract

Psychotherapy with interpreters is demanding and poses specific challenges to all participants. Simultaneously it can generate resources which are beneficial to the therapeutic process. In the present paper, problems and chances of working with interpreters are discussed in reference to psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care for young refugees. Recommendations to optimize the work with interpreters in this field are presented in order to facilitate the establishment of quality standards. © Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht GmbH & Co.
