Abstract
This article analyses the labor mobility of Argentine immigrants in Spain. Using data from the 2007 National Immigrant Survey, we test the hypothesis regarding a U-shaped pattern of occupational mobility from the "last job" in Argentina, to the "first and subsequent jobs" in Spain. The results obtained contribute to partially refute that hypothesis. Until 2007, when the economic growth comes to an end, most migrants experienced a downward labor mobility from a higher status in Argentina. From 2007 to the present, the economic crisis has been an unfavorable context for labor mobility.
