Abstract

Resettlement to the third country, repatriation, and integration in the receiving country are three permanent solutions to the refugee question. Focusing on integration, the principal aim of this paper is to theorize integration, establish the degree of integration of forced migrants in Southeastern Europe in the new millennium, discover obstacles that prevent integration, and provide recommendations for intensification of integration processes. Since integration programs in the region are still insufficient despite the fact that in the new millennium the discourse on integration intensified the author argues that governmental and intergovernmental organizations, along with the civil society, should pay more attention to the process of integration.
