Abstract

The article provides insight concerning the current situation involving Ukrainian women migrant laborers in Italy. It also provides a brief account of the main features of Ukrainian migration to Italy and uses this information to identify its main nodal points. In doing so, the article not only alludes to the economic difficulties that have prompted mass migration, but also analyzes the progressively increasing 'welfare needs' of Italy and its consequences. © 2008 by The Haworth Press.
