Abstract

The current study evaluated a school-based intervention program developed for the cultural adjustment of recent Chinese immigrant youth. The authors investigated whether or not students' social connectedness, bonding to teacher, school interest, and career/college and academic help seeking will increase after participation in the exploratory program. T-Test analyses revealed a significant increase in scores on social connectedness, bonding to teachers, and college and career help-seeking after participating in the program. Implications for developing programs for Asian immigrant youth are discussed. © 2008 by The Haworth Press. All rights reserved.
