Abstract
This research investigates ethnic identity, national identity, bicultural identity integration and psychological well-being in a sample of foreign adolescents (N = 139) living in Bergamo. The results show that adolescents score higher on ethnic rather than national identity and confirm the close relationship between ethnic identity, bicultural identity integration and psychological well-being. Gender differences in acculturation experience and cultural identification emerge; in the female sample foreign adolescents seem to have more psychological problems than Italian ones. Our results corroborate the relevance of the construct of bicultural identity integration wich demonstrated to account for aspects of acculturation process that ethnic and national identity don't explain. © 2018 Dipartimento di Architettura e Pianificazione.
