Abstract

We address the influence of ethnic diversity on the development of a resettlement support system for Myanmar women refugees who are now residing in Dallas, Texas. The intent of the project is to bring about a member-responsive resettlement support system through the use of developmental social work research in which participants are active in the conceptualization, design, and governance of the project. We examine what we learned about the importance of ethnic diversity among Myanmar refugee women and offer initial findings about ethnic diversity that hold implications for the design of the resettlement support system. © 2017 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
