The kidnapping is a criminal phenomenon which speaks volumes unfortunately there are very few writings. Indeed, what do we really know about kidnapping? Almost nothing, at least, very little. Whether one consults criminogical literature, criminal law or empirical research on this social evil, the observation is the same: a Scientific’s persistence vacuum stunning. In spite of television series, cinema films or literary novels that have often made it a favourite spot, kidnapping remains as the poor relation of a large series of crimes that haunt the spirits. In Algeria, in particular, the focus of our study, the extent of this phenomenon is still unknown. However, it is the origin of several victims; it is enough to be convinced to read from time to time the Newspaper or the news flashes of the television stations. Faced whit this, what can the criminologist do? Ultimately, give a detailed analysis, take stock of the situation and try to propose appropriate solutions for decisionmaking.
