Abstract

The Council of Europe (CoE) Convention against Trafficking in Human Organs is a significant tool in the global fight against the traffic in human organs for transplantation. It is addressed to all states throughout the world, not only to CoE member states. The Convention binds states to adopt reciprocally consistent and co-ordinated measures to establish organ trafficking as a criminal offence. The legal fundamentals and co-ordinated action envisaged in the Convention provide practical support in the implementation of principles already sanctioned in previous declarations. © Società Editrice Universo (SEU).
