The paper summarizes the general legal framework relating to the phenomenon of trafficking in human beings for labour exploitation, at international level, European level, and particularly at Italian level. The crucial point is the condition of the victim, very often in such a vulnerable position, without permit to stay, legal information and assistance: the situation regarding labour exploitation in agriculture is extremely serious in various places in Italy. In this perspective, great importance have all the legal measures that can strengthen the effective social inclusion of the victim, with the necessary contribution of government and social actors.
