Abstract

This article examines the Law Commission's Consultation Paper on Kidnapping. It seeks to clarify the nature of the wrong at the heart of the offence, and the consequences of that for its definition. It argues that far greater attention needs to be paid to the issue of kidnapping of children in the context of family law cases and of the removal of vulnerable adults without consent. © 2012 Thomson Reuters (Professional) UK Limited.
