Abstract
Two recent documentary historical exhibitions on the Nazi past were held in Berlin: one organized by the Deutsches Historisches Museum analyzed the consensus for the Nazi regime and Hitler in his relationship with the German nation and people; the other, hosted by the Jewish Museum of Berlin, is the first comprehensive reconstruction of forced labour and of its importance for the German economy. The paths proposed by the two exhibitions offer an exceptional occasion to reflect on the different relationship with their respective fascist pasts between German and Italian political-cultural institutions.
