Abstract
New records that confirm as authentic the exercise of commercial sex among women of the Aonikenk ethnic group and foreign sailors, are presented. Mostly seal hunters and whalers, who often ended up in the Patagonian coast of the Strait of Magellan planning to establish relations with indigenous people. Some moment in between 1830 and 1850 decades is indicated as the likely period of occurrence, and some considerations and comments on the uniqueness and novelty of the subject are presented.
