Abstract

Premised on the idea that the migration process leaves its traces on food, in this paper -part of an ongoing research- I will describe and explain the feeding practices of migrant families from Bolivia, Paraguay and Peru currently living in Buenos Aires. My objective is to analyze the food practices of migrant women with emphasis on their home-country culinary traditions, and the food possibilities and limitations determined by their socio-economic conditions.
