Foreign migrant workers in Japan: Trends and policies (Article)

Abstract

This research note presents data on trends in foreign workers in Japan, and reviews recent policy changes relating to these workers. Trends from 1973-1993 are reviewed and data for recent years include disaggregation by country of origin, residence within Japan, status of residence, illegal workers, and gender. © 2015, Scalabrini Migration Center.
