The authors examined at Forlanini Hospital (1986-1992) a series of 56 patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis, immigrated in Rome from outside E.E.C. countries. They were 29 years-average age and men were more than woman. The most common radiologic manifestations were nodular diffuse and cavitation. The incidence of drug resistance was higher with to respect Italian tuberculosis patients (32,1% vs. 14,6%) but therapeutic result was positive in 89,3% of case. Finally the authors stress the importance of surveillance and facilities for medical care for these patients.
