Abstract

Reviews recent changes in the cultural, and more specifically religious, behaviour of immigrant groups in the US resulting from demographic and sociological characteristics, and their implications for a variety of church institutions. The author argues that the Fundamentalist proselytisation of Hispanic migrants is a challenge to the American Church: to be truly Catholic; and to give minorities within it the right to self-identity. -P.Hardiman
