Abstract

This paper deals with concepts, attitudes and beliefs concerning health and illness amongst Ethiopian adolescents studying in Youth Aliyah residential schools in terms of their importance for understanding the current health practices of the immigrant population. The description of the medical background in their country of origin and the changes that have taken place throughout the various transition stages both on their journey to Israel and in the absorption process, will provide a basis for such analysis.
