Abstract
This research studied the relationship between the immigration and absorption process on contraceptive attitudes and sexual behaviors of single female immigrants from Ethiopia. The purpose was to investigate the factors leading to a phenomenon of unintended pregnancies among non-married female immigrants from Ethiopia, ages 18-24, residing and studying in youth villages. Many factors, including immigrating to a new society, changing cultural beliefs while also preserving other cultural traditions, and of incorrect knowledge, contributed to this new phenomenon where unwed young female immigrants were engaging in sexual intercourse and subsequently becoming pregnant.
