Abstract

Many refugees in the Netherlands are victims of traumatic events, both in their native country and in the period after migration. Studies on PTSD and co-morbid psychopathology in torture victims lead to the development of the Harvard Trauma Questionnaire (HTQ). This paper describes a pilot-study on its validity and practical applicability in an ethnically mixed population of hospitalized refugees. The results seem positive.
