Abstract

The increasing number of new cases of tubercolosis makes the problem a kind of 'global emergency'. Moreover, in Italy the tubercolosis enjoys special benefits, becoming also a medico-legal problem. The Authors consider the clinical and medico-legal aspects, in italian citizens and in immigrant workers too, on the ground of current regulations. Finally the Authors propose a global programme of prevention, therapy (through the Directly Observed Therapy) and assistence, in favour of italian people and of foreigners living in Italy, even if clandestine. The realization of this programme is possible by the collaboration of all the people working in the health services.
