Abstract

Interaction patterns between migration, health and socioeconomic position are characterized by several mechanisms. Social status influences risks and opportunities in health in general, as well as migration itself, and moderates the extent of positive or negative effects of migration on health. Migration is an important determinant for explaining health inequalities, although bias and unreliable data have to be considered in interpretations. © 2018 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.
