Abstract

In Italy, as well as in other industrialized countries, a lot of investigators note a recurring epidemic of tuberculosis. Several causes are considered responsible for this new situation. One of these consists of increased immigration from developing countries. We have considered this population for evaluating its compliance to the prophylaxis versus Mycobacterium tuberculosis in twelve months of observation. Nineteen persons, nine males, ten females, 90% from Morocco were included in our study. The design of the study expected that all patients with negative and positive tinetest, in absence of film chest pathology were controlled in pre-established note and, if necessary, treated in chemoprophylaxis. High compliance, in this population, was a great surprise in our team and it confirms that adequate education in sanitary measures is a perscrutable target in extracomunitary immigrants.
