Abstract
Even if we know everything about the situation of the migrant person, we shall still know nothing about this person, or about its situation as lived. However, it seems difficult to meet these patients without any lightings about the trajectory, the living conditions, the existence upset. This article evokes some existential aspects of this particular situation: what does it mean to be stateless (H. Arendt), to be a vagrant (Z. Bauman), to be a stranger (A. Shutz)? We reflect on the conditions of a knowledge of the other one, as member of a community, but also as subject of a singular story. Any consultation is a meeting between two cultures. Which obstacles, which resources for a encounter between mistrust, mutual incomprehension and work of listening? © 2018 Elsevier Masson SAS
