Abstract
INTRODUCTION: This study is a literature review regarding the institutional framework for access to health services by refugees and immigrants in Greece. It should be noted that the issue of access of migrants to health began a research interest in recent years. Therefore, research efforts have been made are few. In the present study does not refer to the detention centers and shelters aliens, as I consider that the documentation requires field research, which should be associated with the existing legal framework, for being able to draw correct conclusions. METHODOLOGY: There was a review of international and Greek literature, editorial and parallel analysis of studies and field surveys. RESULTS: It noted that the institutional framework concerning the access of refugees - migrants to health services in Greece, while until recently been restricted, altered with a positive sign to the improvement of access and use by providing equal rights to all. CONCLUSION: The phenomena of migration and refugee, are not phenomena that can be eliminated, and they will exist. Therefore we should steer, not in suppressing or limiting effects of the phenomena, but in actions to normalize the transition for both the host countries and for those who experience the phenomena. We should turn to inclusion and integration policies as it appears that the temporary nature of their stay tends to get permanent residence characteristics.
