Abstract
This text describes the personal relations, the common ground of discussion and the contexts of political intervention shared by the Hispano-Mexican philosopher Adolfo Sanchez Vazquez and the intellectual and art critics close to the cultural circles of the Spanish Communist Party (PCE) in the late Franco era. The article singles out the activity of practicing art and theoretical groups such as the "Communication Group" and the work of art historians and theorists such as Valeriano Bozal and Simon Marchân Fiz, who revived some of Sanchez Vazquez's arguments on the links between a renewed Marxist aesthetic and the philosophy of praxis. © 2018 Fundacion Lazaro Galdiano.
